30 Most Photographed Beaches In The Caribbean

To celebrate World Photography Day we embarked on a mission to discover the most photographed beaches in the Caribbean. This job wasn´t easy because as you know by now, the Caribbean is a huge area that covers many islands, keys, continetal shore of many countries, a variety of languages, cultures and different levels of accesibility.
Thanks to Sightmap which gets all the information from the millions of photographs users take and upload to Google´s Panoramio everyday, this search was easier so, here they are, the most photographed beaches in the Caribbean:
1. Cancun – Mexico
This 29 mile stretch of land has some of the most insanely white sand beaches and shades of blue you would have imagined. There are 9 public beaches but in this case we decided to include the entire Cancun Hotel Zone area.

2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 Riviera Maya –Mexico
Again, this long strip of coast have some of the most beautiful and photographed beaches in Mexico, from Punta Maroma to the trendy Playa del Carmen to the boho chic allure of Tulum.

11. Miami Beach – United States
Do we need to say anything? Well, maybe that after enjoying the sun you should take a stroll down Lincoln Road, have a coffe or an ice cream, maybe a little shopping won´t harm.
12. Cabbage Beach – Bahamas
This beach is located near Nassau, very closet o the world famous Reef Atlantis Hotel. Would you like to see if the pigs are swiming there?
13. Coral Beach – Jamaica
This beach is located in the Negril area, is a long strip of beach with many hotels for your leisure.
14. Ocho Rios – Jamaica
Thought Ocho Rios is a well know area with many big all inclusive hotels, the beach is basically the same for everyone. Palmtrees, soft sand beaches and turquoise waters for everyone.
15. Roatan – Honduras
Roatan is still considered as an “unknown” island just off shore of Honduras, it is a scuba divers Paradise and a very laid back place for families, newlyweds and backpackers to stop.
16. Cahuita National Park – Costa Rica
This is one of the least developed beaches in Costa Rica, great for snorkeling and wildlife sightseen – like the wildhorses pictures above - it is also a nesting ground for sea turtles.

17. Bocas del Toro – Panama
This is a province in a little far from Panama City and gathers continental shore as well as a nine island archipielago with many beautiful beaches and bays where houses built on the water are the norm and not the exception.
18. San Andres – Colombia
This colombian island has amazing Golden sand beaches, cristal clear waters, pamtrees and colorful houses and people. What´s not to photograph in this place?

19. Macao Beach, Punta Cana – Dominican Republic
Macao is located in the tips of the long strip of white sand beach that is known as Punta Cana. Macao is unique because it has rocks formations and cliffs and its also a great place for surfing.

20. Playa Dorada – Dominican Republic
Located within miles from the colonial city of Puerto Plata, this beach has some of the most luxurious all-inclusive hotels in the area and is not short of water activities such as kayaking and jetskiing.

21. Governor´s Beach – Turks&Caicos
This beach is located in Grand Turk island has a quain feel with the town right there and its proximity to Grand Turk´s Cruise Center makes it one of the favorite beaches for cruisers.

Located in the Providenciales area in north Caicos has beautiful beachfront properties and hotels, wooden docks and impressively azure waters.

23. Luquillo – Puerto Rico
This is one of the island´s most famous beaches, it has the El Yunque mountain to the west, quaint little beach stands with food and other goodies, palmtrees and shade, cristal clear waters and tranquile waters. Nice, isn´t it?
24. Vieques – Puerto Rico
Some say, sunrises in Vieques are unbeatable, we can only tell by looking at this picture that it is a strong contender for the award if there were such.

25. Magens Bay – St. Thomas
Surrounded by palmtrees and a few hills, is peaceful and quiet, just relax.

You could literally jump off your plane straight to the beach… enough said!
27. Pebbles Beach – Barbados
Right on Bridgetown, we can see a lot of azure water and soft golden sand but not to many pebbles!
28. The Knip Beaches – Curaçao
These are two beaches, Grand Knip and Kleine Knip. They are both gorgeous but some say locals and visitors like to jump off Kleine Knips cliffs, which makes it so popular and photographed.
29. Eagle Beach – Aruba
This beach is unique because instead of palmtrees it has the very rare Divi Divi Tree, which makes it look like an enchanted beach.

30. Cayo de Agua – Venezuela
Los Roques is a group of paradisiac islands just off the coast of Venezuela and Cayo de Agua (as for Water Key) is probably the archipielago´s poster child.
