It doesn´t matter where we will be traveling or the nature of our trip; could be a romantic weekend getaway , backpacking in South Estas Asia for months or chasing UFOs; bringing your own medicines is a no-brainer.

Relly on what you already have in your bathroom cabinet of medicines such as painkillers, stomach ache, sore throat, flu, band-aids, sea sickness and antiallergenics are basics in every household and should be basics in every suitcase packed.

Packing medicines for a trip

The everyday medicines from your medicine cabinet can save you stress and tons of money.

Now a little anecdote on antiallergenics: I know a young couple whom I´m going to refer to as Carlos and Cristina, got married about 5 years ago and planned a wonderful honeymoon trip. They went to Buenos Aires , then to Santiago and flew from there all the way to Bora Bora.

In Bora Bora they stayed in a luxurious bungalow over the water, enjoyed all the water activities and relaxed for a couple of days(they had intended to stay for a week) but on day 2 they had a special dinner . Little did they know that Cristina was allergic to some sea food contained in the dinner which turned out in them leaving on an emergency air ambulance to the nearest hospital which was located about 50 minutes flight in Tahiti.

They spent thousands of dollars from their credit card, their honeymoon was ruined and it could all have been solced with one Little antiallergic pill… A SINGLE PILL! Which leads us to getting a travel insurance but that´s the topic for another travel tips post.

So, either is a mild headache, a blíster in your feet, a paper cuto r food poisoning, pack a small bag with basic medicines and you should be fine. Now enjoy your trip!
